Lien Dela and her army brought significant advances in engineering, agriculture, and medicine to the humans of the former elven lands, who were struggling to get by without the aid of elven magic. Voxport was a wealthy polity, both materially and culturally.

They were to find themselves disappointed in that regard, as each town and village was made to pay regular tribute in the form of taxes to their new overlords, along with submitting to compulsory service in the imperial legions.Д«ut the Voxians offered much in return. They had lived under the nominal sovereignty of the elves for centuries, and hoped that they might enjoy a similar degree of autonomy under their new rulers. Traveling east between the channel to the north and the sea to the south, General DelaвЂ™s army met very little resistance from the sparse human settlements. Lien Dela, promoted from Captain to General following her performance in the War, saw an opportunity and led an expedition into the former elven lands from the city-state of Voxport, which was located on the western coast of the Celestial Sea and one of two entryports from the ocean. This left the former kingdom of Lothrae unclaimed and, as of the year 9 of the War Calendar (WC9), largely uninhabited. The lands of Oe Roweyn had been claimed by King Asheron of Ironhold, and only the southern mystic known as Solari was able to enter the Palace of Shards. The largest and most populous of the elven kingdoms, the legendary Avrayn-Aroth, had been utterly destroyed during the Final Battle, leaving the Shattered Shore and the Palace of Shards in its wake. Of the three main elven kingdoms, only Lothrae on the eastern shore of the Celestial sea and the northern state of Oe Roweyn remained. Even today, almost a millennium after the last elf was seen by human eyes, the means and motives behind the Vanishing are hotly debated by historians. There were many theories at the time regarding where they went, but no one was ever able to decisively answer the question. The first decade after the War of the Talisman saw the elves, a reclusive civilization long in decline, vanish completely from the world.
